This research aims to find out the effect of the two strategies (the face of the story and the test board) on the achievement of first-grade intermediate students in the subject of social sciences.

The current research was limited to a sample of first-grade middle school students in a middle school in the center of Hilla for the academic year 2019-2020, and taught the first three chapters of the social book, where the researcher used the experimental design with partial control, and an achievement test for three groups (two experimental and one control group.

The researcher rewarded the students of the groups in the variables of the chronological age of the students, the social studies grades in the sixth grade of primary school, and the academic achievement of the parents.

The researcher formulated (90) behavioral objectives and prepared teaching plans for social topics in light of the book’s content and the formulated behavioral objectives, and the experiment was applied.

(K2), the difficulty equation, the discrimination coefficient equation, and the efficacy of alternatives equation, and after using the one- way analysis of variance in data processing, the study came to the conclusion that: the strategies face of the story and the test panel proved with statistical significance their effectiveness in teaching social sciences to first-grade intermediate students, and in In light of this result, the researcher recommended emphasizing the use of active learning strategies in teaching social sciences.
