Abstract EN

The Red Sea is considered one of the most important main navigation routes in the world, linking three continents: Africa, Asia and Europe.

Nine countries overlook it.

It has been able to establish many ports on its banks, including the port of Massawa in Eritrea.

This study comes under the title Massawa Maritime Port - a historical study, and aims to identify the most important ports of the Red Sea and know its history, and to emphasize its strategic importance, And highlighting its economic role, and this study followed the historical, analytical, descriptive approach to historical facts, and reached the most important results, the most important of which is that the port of Massawa is an important strategic edifice for the State of Eritrea, and that it is the main port for it to export and import goods.

To emphasize its importance and search for its economic and political role in strengthening political relations and economic cooperation between the countries of the Red Sea Basin.
