Political and Intellectual Trends, in Iraq during Fourteenth Century HD The research aims to track the political and intellectual trends, in Iraq during the fourteenth century, through having a quick glance to the political parties, associations and Intellectual currents and what accompanied that such as governing regimes, political instability and military coups.

The nature of the research makes it necessary to begin with a stepping stone on the state of Iraq in the thirteenth century AH, and to highlight the prominent political and intellectual changes during the era of Mamluk and Othmani; as the emergence of distinct Arab features, and the emergence of several inventions of the modern era, and it singles out the first axis of the beginnings of the ideas of nationalism in modern and contemporary Iraq.

Besides, it explains the reasons for the delay of Iraq being affected by the ideas emanating from the Levant and Egypt, despite the emergence of several political and intellectual associations.

The second topic: In this area, the research focuses on the intellectual and political trends since the establishment of the state till the Kilani Movement 1361 AH, where it witnesses several political events, most notably: Britain›s occupation of Iraq, the emergence of parties that demanded independence, and the establishment of many cultural and social associations and forums.

The third topic is devoted to intellectual and political trends from the Kilani movement to the establishment of the republic, where the political parties emerged with clear features and the intellectual and political direction as well.

The fourth topic: this area of the research discusses the intellectual and political trends in the Republican era 1377 AH-1400 AH, and the accompanying violent disturbances and coups, until the domination of Baath Party over all functions of the state.
