The study aims to investigate and track the aspects of economic activity in the ports and villages of the Red Sea during the 11th Hijri corresponding to the17th Gregorian depending on Arrihla Al Ayachiia known as Ma’ al-Mawa’id (Table Water) (10721074-H/16611663-G) by Abu Salim ‘Abd Allah ibn Mohammed al-’Ayyashi the well-known travel writer, author, and scholar.

The significance and scientific value of Arrihla Al Ayachiia are demonstrated in the different scenes and subjects included and narrated.

Whereas he described the roads and roadhouses of the pilgrimage (Hajj), ports, villages and the coastal areas he has been through, and the aspects of human activity and economic prosperity including markets, buildings, goods, prices, selling and buying scales, as well as describing the road dangers, extensions and distances between regions.

He also described the trees, plants, and agricultural areas, as well as expanded on the details of water sources and wells, in addition to investigating the social and population phenomena, scientific activity and urban scenes.

Arrihla Al Ayachiia is considered to be a model looked up to by whoever came after.
