Abstract EN

The study aims to identifying the elements of the standard of the Sudanese university libraries and the difficulties that hinder its application, as well as help the Sudanese university libraries to upgrade their services.

The importance of the study is represented in identifying the standards of Sudanese university libraries, and it is one of the few studies, if not rare, in this field.

The study used the descriptive and analytical method.

The questionnaire was also used to identify the extent of its application in Sudanese university libraries, as well as the interview and observation.

The study found that the elements of the Sudanese standard were the building, furniture, equipment, budget and workers, as well as building and developing groups, their organization and services.

The most prominent difficulties were weak budgets and the absence of an information program to promote Sudanese specifications.
