Abstract EN

This study aims to shed the light on the economic necessities that state of Kuwait relied on since its emergence, asitis distinguished by its geographical location, which contributed to the variety of its economic necessities.

despite the scarcity of water resources, Kuwait has overcome these difficulties by engaging in various kinds of economic activities, such as commercial activity, shipbuilding, diving, fishing and pearling.

the governor has played a role in supporting these activities, by reducing tax fees, which led to Kuwait seaport being a station for attracting many goods from several places.

grazing, agriculture, trade, crafts and industries, diving and natural resources are the essential economic necessities dealt with in this study.

this studywas discontinued in 1331 a.h / 1914a.d due to the outbreak of world war ii and the balance of powers has been changed, and consequently, there were changes and transformation have been occurred in the great powers.

all these changes had affected the most countries including Kuwait.

this study adopted historical research approach based on collecting the literature related to the study from its origins, analyzing and reviewing themas a descriptive historical study, with a view of reach the findings.

the main findings are the diversity and development of the necessities on which Kuwait relied in building a strong economy in that period in accordance with the nature of its geographical location and the role of the ruling authority in supporting these necessities.
