Abstract EN

The research deals with the impact of economic and social factors on fertility in Bara locality - North Kordofan State between (1973-2012).

The study aimed to know the relationship between a woman’s work and her average income, and to teach her about her fertility level.

The study followed the historical, descriptive and analytical method, using observation, interview and questionnaire tools to collect primary information.

It also relied on population censuses, specialized surveys, and reports prepared by the Central Bureau of Statistics, the National Population Council, periodicals and publications of international organizations in determining the fertility position.

The study concluded that families with high average incomes are less fertile than families with low incomes by at least one birth difference.

And that the percentage of women at the secondary and university level of about 55.4% has a negative impact on fertility.

The study recommended improving the economic conditions of poor families, harmonizing the ratios of male and female education in educational stages, and legalizing the use of family planning methods.
