Abstract EN

The current research aims at : Setting degree of psychological toughness for heads of depzrtments at university of Mosul for the academic year 2019-2020 in general Know significance of differences in psychological toughness according to gender (males – females ) Know significance of differences in level of psychological toughness according to specialization ( humantarian – scientific ) The researchers used analytical descriptive approach due to its appropriateness .

The sample consisted of (80) heads of departments of university of mosul , divided equally into (40) each men and women .

to achieve the aims , the researchers adopted ( Al- Hamdani 2018) scale to measure psychological toughness .

Psychological meters of surface reliaility and registerred ( 80%) .

Stability was found via re-test reaching (0.82) , a good factor .

The researchers used the following statistical tools (SPSS) , pearson conjunction factor , t-test for one and two independent samples .

The results can be summed up as follows : 1-sample , in general have a degree of psychological toughness 2-no statistically significant differences according to gender variable ( males-females ) 3-there are statistically significant differences at the level of psychological toughness according to specialization ( humantarian – scintific ) and in favor of latter .

The researchers recommend Urge university to strengthen psychological toughness for heads of departments of its colleges based on programs that promote their levels of commitment , control and challenge .

The reserachers suggest : Making a similar study about psychological toughness and its relation to personality features of heads of departments.
