Summary of the research The study aimed to :Identifying the level of administrative work pressures for the heads of departments in the faculties of Al- Mustansiriya University, as well as identifying the differences in the level of administrative work pressures for the heads of departments in the faculties of Al- Mustansiriya University according to the variables (gender, length of service, specialization) .

A random sample was selected that included (30) department heads, consisting of (3) female department heads and (27) male department heads, who were distributed according to the variables (gender, length of service, specialization) .

To achieve the goal of the research, the work stress scale prepared by (Al-Jubouri, 2007) was used, and the apparent validity of the scale was verified by presenting it to the experts.

On the colleges of Al-Mustansiriya University, after applying the scale to the sample, the data were collected and treated statistically by using a one-sample t- test, a two-sample t-test and Pearson's correlation coefficient.

The results of the research showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the level of administrative work stress according to the gender variable.

As well as the absence of statistically significant differences in the level of administrative work stress according to the variable length of service.

Also, there were no statistically significant differences between the heads of the scientific and humanitarian departments with regard to the variable of specialization.

The research concluded with several recommendations, the most important of which are: -The necessity of conducting training courses for department heads to clarify the types of administrative work pressures, their sources and mechanisms for dealing with them to reduce the impact of these pressures on their administrative work.

Develop carefully selected standards and specifications to test department heads.

The suggestions were: -Conducting a study on the pressures of administrative work for department heads in other universities.

Conducting a study on the pressures of administrative work for the deans of Baghdad and Al-Mustansiriya Universities from the point of view of department heads (a comparative study) .

Conducting a study on the pressures of administrative work and its relationship to job satisfaction among the heads of departments at Al-Mustansiriya University.
