Abstract EN

This study treated how the phenomenon of an Ottoman Sultan deposition or dismissal affected the state in the second half of its reign.The study highlighted the causes behind the phenomenon and its sequels on the Ottoman state.

The study followed the analytical descriptive historical method.

It is divided into introduction, preface, conclusion and two periods.

The first traced the phenomenon of deposition in the 17th and opening of the 18th centuries.

The second period studied the phenomenon in the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries.

The study found that the authorities that deposed or dismissed the Sultan are: the harem, the Enkshareeya militia, Sheiks of Islam (religious cast) and the House of Representatives.

The important effects of the phenomenon are;In the first period the phenomenon marked the beginning of the Ottoman state decline.

In the second period the phenomenon directly led to the downfall of the Ottoman State.
