Abstract EN

The study aims to suggest procedures to improve the management of the National Careers Guidance Centre (NCGC) programs in light of the job market demands in Sultanate of Oman, by reviewing the management of NCGC programs offered to post basic education students.

To achieve the objectives of the study, explanatory sequential mixed method design was followed to analyze the programs of the center.

The content analysis approach was used as a quantitative data collection method.

As for the qualitative data, it was collected using semi-structured interviews with seven staff members of the NCGC, and members of the institutions cooperating with the center in making the training programs.

The quantitative analysis of the study found that planning and execution achieved 80%, while the following up and evaluation of programs achieved 65.3 %.

The study suggested some procedures that aim to improve the training programs offered by the NCGC with the consideration of job market demands.
