Abstract EN

The idea of modern research on the news of the conquest of Jerusalem by Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi in (583 AH / 1187 AD) is reduced to the conscience of the historians of Morocco and Andalusia, an d how they wrote this news in the folds of their narrations, especially those sources that were devoted to the history of Morocco and Andalusia, only to them, such as Ibn Adhari and the owner of the clothes, and the effect of The political situation on their writ i ng, and to what extent their political and regional inclinations were affected by the recent events on the recording of the conquest event, and that there are a group of historians who tried to stay away from the influence of politicians and expressed with great joy about the news and even excelled in poetry praising and denouncing the leader of the conquest, Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi.

The importance of the topic appears in tracing the extent to which historians of the Islamic West are interested in and affected by major events in the East, and to show the extent of religious cohesion and interdependence between the two wings of the Islamic world, and the intellectual consequences of political conditions on historical works and their writers.

The study aims to investigate the way the historians of the Islamic West presented the news of the conquest of Jerusalem and their intellectual views, and the different eras in the phrases in which Salah al-Din described the conquest leader, and his relations with the Almohads.

The study will depend on the method of description, analysis and comparison; To understand the condit ions of political life, and their impact on the writings of historians.

Among the results of the study, it became clear that Saladin’s attempts to heal the rift in the relations between him and the Al-Mansur Almohad Caliph, but they did not succeed and Salah al-Din was not able to obtain from them what he wanted.
