Abstract EN

The study dealt with the role of the balanced scorecard in achieving competitive advantage by applying it to banks operating in el-Obeid city.

the study aimed to identify the balanced scorecard in terms of concept, objectives, importance, dimensions and mechanisms, and to identify the competitive advantage and the dimensions of competition in banks.

the problem of the study represented in the main question: what is the role of the balanced scorecard in achieving competitive advantage, the study followed the descriptive analytical approach.

the study reached several results, including : some of banks in el-Obeid city do not rely on the balanced scorecard to achieve competitiveness; there is partial familiarity with the banks’ departments with the balanced scorecard model and its importance in achieving the competitive advantage of the bank.

the balanced scorecard works on developing the relationship between the bank's customers and the bank's management and contributes to the development of banking products and thus the ability to compete.

the study recommended several recommendations, including : the importance of adopting the balanced scorecard in banks operating in el-Obeid city, holding specialized training courses in the field of balanced scorecard and competitive advantage in banks to raise the capabilities and capabilities of workers in the banking sector.
