Abstract EN

The research aims to identify the role played by small enterprises in increasing the employment of economically active human forces, and thus their direct impact in increasing the added value, developing the industrial sector, and providing income, innovation and technological progress, which leads to raising the standard of living for members of society and reducing unemployment rates in it.

The research also aims to study and analyze the reality of small enterprises in Iraq in light of the challenges and obstacles faced by these enterprises in order to reformulate the procedures followed to improve the reality of these enterprises and then increase their contribution to the gross domestic product and increase employment and thus reduce unemployment.

The research found that small enterprises have many characteristics that qualify them and make them the most suitable for the Iraqi economic environment in terms of being labor intensive and light capital invested enterprises.

However, these enterprises remain hostage to the availability of an economic climate that enjoys the reform of the economic and legal legislation in place and the narrowing of bureaucratic circles, which has affected the contribution of small enterprises to the GDP in Iraq is characterized by a relatively low, which requires facing these challenges by applying many proposals and reforms at the level of the Iraqi economy.
