Abstract AR

There is no doubt that there is a shortcoming in the use of public opinion polls in supporting the strategic development decision in its various fields in Yemen.

Therefore, the importance of this study lies in the desire to identify the causes of that shortcoming and to crystallize a forward- looking vision towards employing public opinion polls in support of the strategic development decision in Yemen in particular.

This research is an attempt to form a strong base for measuring public opinion based on sound scientific foundations, especially with the discontinuation of most periodic statistical surveys, which used to cover a large part of the data and indicators related to development.

The main objective of this research is to clarify the role of public opinion studies in supporting and providing development indicators in general and SDF’s in particular.
