The evaluation of public policies is one of the most important modern approaches to improve and to Optimize public work, through its significant contribution to informing decision-makers in general and those in charge of making and Implementation of public policies in p articular, by the effects of these policies on those who are concerned by it, in order to exhibit the strengths, weaknesses and imbalances that inflicted the policy in question, In order reform It.

public policies are considered as a political and social issue in which many actors can intervene, and there is no doubt that public policies will not be effective when the main factors leading to forming and implementation of an effective policy are absent, If the legislative institution is considered as one of the most important actors in the development of public policies, it is also considered as a body specialized in the development of public policies.

This article attempts to address the importance of the parliamentary evaluation of public policies, and the most important mechanisms available to it to exercise this function, as well as to formulate some proposals and recommendations to ensure the development of the evaluation function of the legislative institution, and the means to overcome the constraints which oppose parliamentarians in fulfilling this function.
