Abstract EN

This study addresses the theory of certainty between cause and effect as promulgated by philosophers of the Islamic civilization, with an investigation into some of their pharmacological applications.

Their writings on these applications will then be compared with contemporary scientific pharmaceutical research.

The study will also investigate the relationship between this theory and Plotinus’ theory of Overflow and Emanation.

Finally, it will examine the aforementioned in light of the Qur’an and the Prophetic Sunnah, And through this criticism, it has become clear that the philosophy falls into several conflicts with Islamic doctrine, such as the pre-eternity of the universe, and negating Allah Most High’s knowledge of parts, and affirmation of the absolute effect of causes.
