Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the aspects of the criminal protection of personal freedom and how the legislator provided this protection and research in the legislative limitations of the criminal protection of personal freedom, specifically in Jordanian law and the compatibility of the legislation in Jordan with regard to personal freedom and what is applicable in international law, while a third trend has emerged as a legal center.

- that all crimes against the rights constituting the personal freedom based on the nature of the general criminal intent and that most of the crimes against personal freedom are deliberate crimes that are only available criminal intent.

The study recommended that the Jordanian legislator explicitly stipulate in the constitution that the criminal and civil proceedings arising from crimes against personal liberty shall be exempted from the provisions of statute of limitations and amnesty, and the suspension of legal proceedings shall be final.
