Abstract EN

This research aims to identify the speaking and reading skills that non-Arabic speakers must possess at the Ghana institute of languages, and to know the extent of their availability.

this is in addition to identifying the role of stories in developing and recognizing the speaking and reading skills of non-Arabic speakers.

the researcher followed the semi-experimental approach in conducting this research, and the sample of the research was students of the institute of languages of non-Arabic speakers.

to achieve the objectives of the research, a questionnaire was prepared on speaking and reading skills, the teacher's guide, the student's book, and the test, and the researcher applied it to a sample of (30) students from the institute.

in light of the analysis of the results of the research questions, the following results were reached : 1- reaching a list of the speaking and reading skills necessary for learners of Arabic language for non-native speakers at the Ghana language institute.

the list included (43) skills, 27 of which are reading skills, and (16) speaking skills.

2- reaching to build an educational unit based on stories to develop speaking and reading skills for students of the Ghana language institute, in which stories were invested and a list of skills reached to develop speaking and reading skills through many methods, strategies and activities while teaching the proposed educational unit.

3- there is a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) between the average scores of the learners-the research sample-in the two applications, the pre and post applications to test speaking and reading skills in favor of the post application, which indicates the existence of the effectiveness of teaching the educational unit based on stories in developing the speaking and reading skills of the learners Arabic language to non-native speakers.
