Since its inception, popular poetry has gone through various historical stages, in which the poet sings his popular culture, remembering the most important events of his life, and poetry was at all times the air that the Algerian individual could not give up, because it is part of his life that reflects his worries, mentions his pain and hopes, and expresses his horizons and future.

as a literary form, folk poetry is a means of learning about the psychological and social reality, revealing the various mentalities that have arisen in the lap of local culture, which the popular poet represented in terms of sociological connotations.

it reflects all the individual and collective representations of the living reality of aspirations, beliefs and their outlook on life.

this research paper attempted to highlight these representations in their cultural and political aspects through analysis of popular poetic texts.
