Abstract EN

This study aims to analyze quantitatively the national paved road network among the Capitals of the of states of the Republic of Sudan by converting it to a topological map and knowing how the network is connected by using the Haggett classification, the Didport row, the Kanski indicators (beta, gamma, alpha,).

The degree of centralization is measured by using the Kupreg index.

The accessibility is measured by using variables (number of links, direct links using direct link variable, indirect links, actual distance of the total access) and by measuring the degree of on-road network turnings.

The quantitative analysis was carried out by changing the Sudanese on-road network to a topological map, following the basic mathematical rules used in quantitative analysis and presenting the results in the form of a matrix and maps that have been prepared by using ArcGIS10.6.2 program.

The study concluded that the on- national paved road network covers all the capitals of the Sudanese states except for Da'in, the capital of East Darfur state, which affected the degree of network connectivity.

The best connected cities are Khartoum, Rabak, Senge, Wadmdni and white.

The on- national paved road network is characterized as straight.

The study recommended the need to connect Da'in city, the capital of East Darfur state, to the on- national paved road network.

It also recommended the improvement of the quantitative features of the national paved road network by establishing straight links to connect states' capital cities.

Furthermore, it suggested national and territorial developing projects in the easily accessed cities.
