Motor vehicle accidents MVAs and all deaths and injuries that result from them are considered one of the most critical contemporary issues.

Today, MVAs come at the top of the list of causes of deaths and serious injuries in some countries, especially in the Middle East.

These countries suffer from heavy social, economic, and health losses.

This study focuses on spatial analysis of MVAs that took place on Riyadh -Dammam road using geographic information systems GISs in an attempt to specify the locations of MVAs and develop possible solutions to achieve traffic safety, preserve lives and property, adopt traffic plans and programs along with the necessary preventive measures to limit human losses and maintain security of the nation and its human and economic constituents with participation from all the concerned entities such as :the East Province Traffic Department, the East Province Municipal Directorate, The Ministries of Transport and Health, The Red Crescent Society, and the National Committee for Traffic Safety.

In order to achieve these objectives, this study has used scientific methods to address the causes of MVAs, identify the role of natural factors in the occurrence of these accidents, and the use of geographic information systems to reduce them and accelerate their tackling.

The outcome of the research was presented in graphs, maps, and tables.

The most prominent outcome of the study was that geographic information systems (GIS) are essential to identify the sites of recurring traffic accidents and to build a spatial information base (SIB).

The study also has revealed the different types and causes of accidents and the direct relationship between increased traffic and high accident rates.

In its recommendations, However, after the application of geographic information systems to determine the location of accidents and the speed of processing, the decrease in the total number of accidents between the comparison years (515) in 1437H, while (302) accidents in 1438 e, also decreased the number of traffic violations on the road Riyadh - Dammam from (48) A) Violation of the violations in the year 1437 AH to 32 thousand in the year 1438 AH, with a change rate of 33.1%.

This means that the violations decreased by one third during one year only, with a decrease of 16 thousand, or 1322 violations per month.

the study emphasized the provision of basic road services, the dissemination of traffic awareness among road users, and the strict application of traffic rules and regulations.
