The current research aims to identify the effectiveness of an educational program based on the theory of cognitive flexibility in reducing the level of mental wandering among students of basic education faculties.

The following hypothesis emerges from this goal: (There is no statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the average scores of the experimental group students who study according to the proposed educational program based on the theory of cognitive flexibility and the average scores of the control group students who study in the traditional way in the scale of mental wandering post-test), and to achieve the goal of the research, the researcher used the descriptive and experimental approaches with partial control.

(50) male and female students who studied in the proposed educational program based on the theory of cognitive flexibility, and the number of students of the control group was (50) male and female students who studied in the usual way.

The researcher was rewarded with the following variables (age - intelligence - and previous knowledge).

To achieve the goal of the research and to test its hypothesis, the researcher prepared a proposed educational program based on the theory of cognitive flexibility.

In order to reach the results of the research, the researcher adopted the search tool, the mental wandering scale (for the elephant, 2019), which consists of (26) items, distributed over two axes.

Low level of mental wandering among the students of the experimental group who studied according to the proposed program based on the theory of cognitive flexibility compared to the students of the control group who studied according to the usual method.
