Economic development is considered the supreme goal of developing countries and the purpose of carrying out economic projects.

There is no doubt that public enterprises undertaken by the public sector have a clear role in promoting economic development, especially those related to infrastructure projects.

Many economic projects are necessary to establish other projects and promote their growth, while their returns are long-term or have no rewarding returns at all.

This is a reason for the private sector not investing in these projects.

On this basis, the Algerian state pursues, within the framework of various five-year plans, an ambitious policy for the development of social and economic infrastructures.

Water resources represent a necessary tool and a catalyst for economic activity, in addition to its direct impact on the daily life of citizens, reducing pressure on urban centers and the northern regions, promoting development in rural areas and the south, reducing investment costs and thus limiting the inflation of prices of goods and products.

These large projects concern the basic sectors in Algeria, such as housing.

Irrigation, roads and transportation.
