Abstract EN

Educational institutions tend to transfer the focus of attention from the teacher to the learner, and this is what the philosophy of active learning advocates, where the learner becomes the focus of the educational process and this philosophy keeps pace with the scientific development of contemporary education in the era of the knowledge economy.

this study sheds light on the extent to which faculty members in the majors of clothing and fashion design use modern strategies in teaching.

it also aimed to determine the most important criteria for selecting teaching strategies that can be used in the field of fashion, clothing and textile design, and to identify the appropriate teaching strategies for teaching specialization courses from the point of view of the faculty members in the specialization.

the study sample consisted of (50) faculty members in the specialization, and the data were collected by following the descriptive approach by means of a questionnaire that included closed and open questions.

the results showed that the faculty members are aware and familiar with the modern strategies, but there is a focus on certain strategies and not others, as some strategies got a high rate of use, while others achieved low rates.

accordingly, the study recommended the importance of conducting extensive studies on the effectiveness of modern strategies in various scientific disciplines, in addition to holding training courses and workshops for faculty members in modern teaching strategies to reach quality teaching and learning.
