Abstract EN

This research aims to identify: (The effect of the cognitive apprenticeship strategy in developing skillful thinking among fourth-grade students in the subject of social studies).

The researcher achieved this by using an experimental design with partial control for the first experimental and second control groups, and a sample of fourth-grade literary students from Al-Hadara secondary school of the general directorate of Salah al-Din education was randomly selected for the academic year (2018-2019 AD).

The sample consisted of (66) students, (10) students were excluded because they failed, and it became (56) students, (28) students for the experimental and (28) students for the normal method.

The researcher was rewarded with several variables (the chronological age of the students calculated in months, the previous year’s grades in history, the parents’ academic achievement, and the intelligence test).

1.There is no statistically significant difference at the level of \ significance (0.05) between the average scores of the experimental group students who study the social subject according to the cognitive apprenticeship strategy and the average scores of the control students who study the same subject in the usual way in the dimensional skill test.

2.There is no statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) between the average scores of the experimental students who study the subject according to the cognitive apprenticeship strategy in the pre and post applications of the skill test.
