Algeria has taken for itself a strategic alternative to oil as an unavoidablenecessity for its leaders to seek sources of funding other than the oil wealth due tothe collapse of oil prices from a financial crisis that reflected the developmental roleof the state.

This is because tourism has become economically important, especiallydesert tourism.

It is necessary for the country to adopt strategic policies byinternational standards so as to make tourism up to a world level, enabling it tocompete internationally in order to attract tourists, as it has made for itself theadvantages of its shadow from other deserts of the world.
