Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the most prominent problems facing drug addicts after the end of their sentence, and to reveal the significance of the differences in those problems according to the variables of age, educational level, and marital status.

The study sample included (120) drug addicts who were deliberately selected from the adults rehabilitation facility in Duhok city.

The study relied on the comparative descriptive approach through the application of a questionnaire prepared by the researchers that included (38) items distributed over six fields: social, psychological, legal, health, economic, and family.

The questionnaire’s validity and reliability indications were verified.

The data was processed using the t-test for two independent samples, one-way analysis of variance, and the least significant difference (LSD) test as statistical means.

The results showed the presence of (30) problems, according to the perceptions of the sample members, distributed into different fields, and the results revealed the presence of significant differences in those problems due to the variables of age, education level, and marital status.

In light of the results, a set of recommendations and suggestions were presented.
