Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the role of the educational supervisor in improving the performance of the teachers of the first three grades in the Koura district from the teachers’ point of view, and to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the interview tool to collect the opinions of the study sample members.

The sample is from the entire population of 155 male and female teachers.

The results showed: - The agreement of the teachers of the first three grades that the role of the educational supervisors in developing the performance of the teachers of the first three grades in the Koura District /Irbid Governorate is of a medium degree.

- The field of evaluation came in second place, and the field of curricula and teaching methods came in third place, and the field of relations with colleagues and the local community, while the field of planning came in the last place.

- The teachers of the first three grades in the Koura District see that the educational supervisors have a limited role in pushing them towards excellence and creativity, because the work of the supervisors is limited to their work in the classroom, due to the presence of several difficulties and challenges that stand in the way of this role.

- All teachers agreed on the need to raise the level of performance of educational supervisors in order to be able to improve and develop the performance of teachers of the first three grades, thus improving the educational process and giving them the opportunity to train on the modern programs that the Ministry has worked on.

The researcher recommended: - Establishing training programs for educational supervisors on recent trends in educational supervision, and being informed of recent developments, and global experiences continuously to raise the level of teachers and improve their performance.

- Educating teachers about the role of educational supervision in improving their teaching performance in different teaching situations, through seminars, pamphlets, and workshops.

- Encouraging educational supervisors to conduct procedural research, experiments and studies that serve the educational process.

- Activating the material and moral incentives for educational supervisors, and the supervisor’s exercise of his role as an influencer who interacts with teachers, discusses them, takes their ideas and pushes them towards improvement, excellence and creativity.
