The objective of the present research was to investigate the effectiveness of the Six Hats strategy in developing creative reading skills among sixth-grade primary students.
The study tool consisted of building a creative reading skills test, and a teacher guide for developing creative reading skills through using of the Six Hats strategy.
The study sample consisted of (60) sixth-grade primary students in Elementary School, and distributed to two equal experimental groups (30) students, and a control (30) students.
The study methodology relied on the experimental approach.
The most important results of the study were, the effect of the Six Hats strategy was shown to develop creative reading skills for sixth-grade primary students, as there were statistically significant differences between the average scores of students of the experimental group and the control in post-application to test creative reading skills when (fluency, flexibility, originality).
As well as the total score, these differences were in favor of students of the experimental group that were studied using the strategy "Six Hats".
Moreover, it found that there were statistically significant differences in the average score of students of the experimental group - which was studied using the strategy - in the test, also, the dimensional skills of creative reading about him in the pre-test, and show the effectiveness of this result statistically based on Black's lab to measure effectiveness.
Thus, the effective role by using this strategy in developing creative reading skills is evident and obvious.
The recommendations of the study were using the "Six Hats" strategy in implementing reading lessons in order to raise the level of students in creative reading skills, and holding continuous training courses to provide Arabic language teachers with methods and models for reading education.
