The research aims to analyze the reality of agricultural activity in Asir region and highlight the role of topography on the distribution of cultivated lands and volume of annual production for the year 2020 through a comparison between Khamis Mushait governorate located in the mountainous region and the Mahayel governorate located in Tihama of Asir region at the feet of the Sarawat Mountains and extending to the Tihama plains overlooking the Red Sea.

The analytical descriptive approach was used with a view of comparing the agricultural areas and the volume of their annual production in both governorates.

The research concluded that topography plays an important role in the map of the distribution of agricultural lands in the Asir region, as it reached about three times in Mahayel more than in Khamis Mushait, due to the flatlands in the Governorate of Mahayel as opposed to the rugged terrain of the lands in Khamis.

The volume of agricultural production in Asir region constituted a positive factor in agricultural production in the highlands region because it was a major cause of monsoon rains, especially during spring and summer, which contributed to an increase in agricultural production.
