Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying the impact of minorities on political stability by relying on both the historical approach and the descriptive analytical approach.

the study revealed that minorities have a prominent role in destabilizing political stability by providing the opportunity for foreign interference, threatening the unity of the state and straining its relations with neighboring countries, in addition to the economic and social challenges that result from civil wars in which minorities are a party of.

the study also revealed that the practices of the political system are the basis for the influence of minorities on the political system, as these practices may fuel the feeling of exclusion and marginalization of minorities and the movement to destabilize the political stability, or the political system includes minorities and integrates them into the crucible of citizenship and national unity.

in light of the results abovementioned, a number of recommendations were set, including: establishing constitutions guaranteeing the rights of minorities in accordance with the principle of equality among all members of the state, establishing a culture of respect for others, containing minorities and achieving their demands to preserve national unity, and so as not to record a weakness against the political system paves the way for any external interference that is indifferent to the rights and demands of minorities as much as it desires to achieve their interests above all else.
