Abstract EN

A study of the nature of the political system in Algeria, especially the balances of internal forces, shows us that the army is the primary axis of the system, as it is the main force of governance that it gained from its pivotal role in liberating the country from occupation and after independence contributed to building development.

however, the Algerian army which until march 1989-the date of its withdrawal from the party-was a major party in the ruling authority in Algeria, since its inception it considered the political function to be inherent in its composition and an essential task of its tasks.
