The study examined the phenomenon of terrorism in Africa at the regional level and the extent of its spread in East, central and west Africa.

the problem of the study was that there are regional, international and local challenges that face the phenomenon of terrorism in Africa and are difficult to control despite concerted international efforts.

the study was built on the assumptions of the most prominent: that the phenomenon of terrorism has become a threat to the collective security of some African countries due to the fragility of those countries and open borders, and the importance of the study emerged to highlight the impact of terrorism on regional and international security in Africa, which requires the concerted international and regional efforts.

in Africa and the extent its spread or decline in some countries, the study followed the historical, analytical, descriptive and comparative approach, and came up with several results, the most important of which are: the absence of formal education by the State and the spread of unemployment, and the lack of justice in some countries; the phenomenon of terrorism among young people, the study concluded several recommendations, including the launch of development projects that provide young people with job opportunities, and strive to achieve equity and social justice, which is a prerequisite for achieving peace and security.
