Abstract EN

The study aimed to know the role of artificial intelligence in the development of critical thinking and scientific trends among female students of the second year of secondary school in the physics course through: identifying the critical thinking skills to be developed among female students of the second year of secondary school in the physics course and identifying the role of artificial intelligence in developing critical thinking and scientific trends they have.

to achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers used the descriptive analytical method, and the study population consisted of all secondary school students in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

the study sample consisted of (40) female students from the scientific department at the school.

the study tool consisted of three tools: the critical thinking test, the artificial intelligence scale, and the scientific trends scale.

the study reached a set of results, the most important of which are the following : 1- there is an impact of artificial intelligence in developing critical thinking and its sub-skills.

2- there is an impact of artificial intelligence in developing scientific trends.

3- there is a statistically significant difference (α=0.05) between the mean scores of the students of the control and experimental groups in the post application of the scientific trends scale as a whole and for each of its subdomains separately in favor of the experimental group.

4- there is a statistically significant difference (α=0.05) in the post application between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group students on the critical thinking test as a whole and its domains(interpretation, evaluation of arguments, conclusion) separately in favor of the experimental group.

in light of the results, the study reached a set of recommendations, most notably: emphasizing the development of critical thinking skills and its various skills in all academic levels, conducting periodic development of curricula in terms of skills included, and various artificial intelligence programs, linking educational experiences and integrating information between the different stages and not fragmenting it or it is built in separate units that are not interconnected with each other.
