يعتبر موضوع تكلفة رأس المال من المواضيع الرئيسية في مجال الإدارة المالية في المؤسسة، و التي يجب على المؤسسة تحديده بدقة أخذا بعين الاعتبار كل الظروف المؤثرة على هذه التكلفة، وصولا إلى قيمتها، وكيفية التحكم فيها.
تعتبر تكلفة التمويل في المؤسسة من بين أهم العوامل المحددة لنوعية الاستثمارات في المؤسسة، حيث كلما كانت صغيرة كلما ساعد ذلك المؤسسة على إيجاد فرص استثمارية أكثر.
