Abstract EN

This research aimed to determine appropriate pattern for presenting infographics (fixed / interactive) in an e-learning environment, and the impact of this on development of electronic communication skills for students of preparatory year at Northern Border University.

Quasi-experimental method was used to measure the impact of independent variable on dependent variable, two research tools were used: a cognitive achievement test and an observation card, the research was applied to a sample of (153) students selected randomly from preparatory year students at Northern Border University, in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, they divided into four random groups, three experimental groups, first experimental sample amounted to (39) students, while second experimental sample amounted to (38) students; third experimental sample was (38) students, while fourth control sample amounted to (38) students.

One-way ANOVA was used to calculate difference between mean scores of students of three experimental groups and control group in the post application of skill performance note card.

Comparisons were made between each two experimental groups using Multiple Post-Hoc Tukey tests comparison.

Results of the research revealed that there were statistically significant differences between mean scores of students in experimental groups in cognitive achievement test and skill performance related to electronic written communication skills when learning using educational infographic.

This is due to the effect of educational infographic presentation pattern (fixed / interactive) in favor of the group that used fixed educational infographic presentation pattern, and also found that traditional method of teaching did not affect on development of electronic written communication skills
