Abstract EN

The Study aimed to address the factors that led to the divergence and rapprochement in Sudanese-Egyptian relations since Sudan gained independence, in light of the different Sudanese regimes between democracy and military.

Its importance comes from the fact that the border and Nile water issues, in addition to the experiences of integration and the joint defense agreement, are among the moSt important issues that led to rapprochement and divergence in the relations of the two countries.The researcher followed the historical approach by exposing the relations of the two countries and the necessary agreements on water, economic and security aspects according to the historical sequence and the descriptive and analytical approach to analyze and describe the foreign policy of the two countries towards each other, and through those approaches the Study reached a set of results, including:The Sudanese-Egyptian relations throughout their hiStory have not witnessed Stability that frames the building of good relations in the future ‘One of the tenseSt factors in the Sudanese-Egyptian relations is the issue of borders related to the Halayeb region and the Nile waters.

And some security concerns as a result of the Islamic orientations of the Salvation regime.

The moSt Stable period in the relations of the two countries was during the military era of the Ibrahim Abboud and Jaafar Nimeiri regimes.
