Abstract EN

This study dealt with editing of commentators' sayings in the views of Ibrahim, peace be upon him, when he said: (this is my lord), beholding or debating? the researcher began to collect commentators' sayings that came when they explained this saying.

then he concluded of all these sayings goes back to two main sayings, the first saying: he was beholding - a belief that the planet is his lord - and the second saying: he was debating to his own people.

the commentators mentioned - the first saying- has several aspects: looking after his puberty, during his childhood and puberty, or before the revelation, or having previously looked at his delusion and overpowered his suspicion or looking at the light of the planet and thought it was his god.

also, the commentators mentioned – the second saying- has several aspects: debate in the manner of exposition, of paving the argument, of placing and imposing, of questioning and denial, of inclusion in saying, of inferring the existence of lord, of navigating the levels of inference, of mockery, or meditation style.

the researcher transferred the commentators' choice of these sayings, with the evidence and the responses to them.

the researcher was editing the most correct saying and explained the reasons for his choice, which is the first saying that states Ibrahim was beholding.

this research intends to point out the preponderant opinion in this matter using the inductive, deductive and descriptive method.

the results of this study that whoever takes the sayings of the predecessors has taken refuge in a severe corner.

the predecessors are not hidden from them the status of Abraham, peace be upon him.

the predecessors completely agreed on this saying because they transmitted it knowingly.

Abraham, peace be upon him, was in the stage of searching for the true lord, and this is the guidance that lord gave him.

it is considered a stage of perfection in his character, his imprint is not inconsistent, and the search for god does not mean polytheism with him.

check after seeing the planet, the sun, and the moon, not before it, in terms of the context of the text.
