English Abstract

An experiment was implemented in laboratories of college of Agriculture/Anbar University (Iraq) on sample of clay loam soil with 50% lime percentage, was taken from Sefen mountain, Shaqlawa district / Erbil province.

They underwent a process of reducing the percentage of lime using HCI acid (0.1 N) to levels 40, 29.5, 24.5, 20, 15.8 and 9.4%.

Spectroradiometer was used to measure the reflectance of the soil samples with different lime content at 9% soil moisture content.

The result showed an increasing of the soil reflectance at all studied wavelengths with increasing of lime percentage.

Results also showed that a significiant correlation between lime percentage and reflectance in the all studied bands, especially with the two near infrared bands, B6 (1560 -1660 nm) and B9 (1360 - 1390nm).

The quantitative relationship between the two variables was also found.

The linear, quadratic and cubic models were efficient to forecasting lime percentage from reflectance data at near infrared band (B6).

The selected band (S.B) at 2350 nm wavelength proved higher efficiency in the forecasting process of lime percentage.
