Abstract EN

This study seeks through this paper to highlight the importance of methodological complementarity in the human and social sciences through the case of the geography.

This specialty is placed at the crossroads of several neighbouring disciplines, which share with them the methods and tools of research.

In order to achieve this contribution, we used the empirical approach and the descriptive, analytical method, by resorting to the reality of geographical scientific production in the Moroccan university.

The main results of this article are as follows: First, some topics require the adoption of specific methods and tools as part of the research process.

Second, geographical research at the beginning of the third millennium has tended to adopt several methods.

Third, the nature of the human and social sciences in general and geography in particular requires the adoption of the principle of methodological complementarity in research.
