Abstract EN

The aim of this research is to identify social phobia and parenting styles for university students.

The researcher used the descriptive correlative approach.

The sample size was (104) subjects.

The researcher used the social phobia scale and the parenting styles scale.

The data was analyzed using the (SPSS) program.

Statistical analysis: T-test for one sample.

T-test for two independent samples and one way ANOVA analysis, the results showed that social phobia for students of the Arabic certificate is high, and the methods of parental treatment for students of the Arabic certificate are positive, There are also statistically significant differences in the social phobia of the students of the Arab certificate that are attributed to the gender variable in favor of females, and there are no statistically significant differences in the social phobia of the students of the Arabic certificate that are attributed to the university variable.

Psychosocial disorders such as social phobia, it’s impact on the individual’s psychological and social development, and he urged parents to provide opportunities for their children to learn speaking, discussion and dialogue skills from a young age because this prevents the emergence of social phobia in them and increases parents’ awareness of parental treatment methods and its relationship to children’s mental health, and parents should not differentiate between children even This does not lead to jealousy and hatred among them, in addition to the need for parents to instill in their children respect for their values and talents and encourage them to invest in them regardless of their differences and agreement with the values of those around them.
