This paper tends to examine the beginning of the Visitation Order in the city of Condrieu in the 17th century and see how it developed at first; it sheds light on the foundation of the monastery and replaces it in its right context.
Then, it analyses the difficulties of the superiors and their functions by exhibiting the attention given to the actors outside the covent.
Finally, it, stresses on the importance of land development to ensure the survival of the monastery in Condrieu.

Cet article se propose d’examiner les débuts de l’Ordre de la Visitation dans la ville de Condrieu aux XVIIe et de voir comment il s’y est développé.
Dans un premier temps, il met en lumière la fondation du monastère et la replace dans son contexte.
Ensuite, il analyse les difficultés des premières supérieures dans leurs fonctions en montrant l’attention accordée aux acteurs extérieurs du couvent.
Enfin, il souligne l’importance du développement foncier pour assurer la survie du monastère à Condrieu.
