Abstract EN

This research aims to study concordance term, one of lexicographic terms, by theory of terminology.

The topic relates to the research field of modern Arabic terms.

It discusses two main issues: the first one is designation of concordance term, which includes history of this neologism term and, its morphological and semantic means of producing this neologism.

The other issue is concept of concordance term, which includes idea development, its definition, concept features and concordance types.

This research applies the descriptive method, and in some places it applies contrastive and historical methods.

There are two most important results of this research: the first one is historical documentation of designation of the term in Arabic and of its equivalent term in European languages, and the other important one is extraction of concept features by depending on the thematic criteria of classifying dictionaries by prof.
