Abstract EN

Based on the fact that the human element is the main pillar on which Egyptian colleges and institutes of tourism and hotels are based in performing their role, and based on previous studies that have found the existence of the phenomenon of organizational cynicism in the environment of Egyptian higher education institutions.

This research aimed to study the phenomenon of organizational cynicism in the Egyptian colleges and institutes of tourism and hotels, to understand their causes far from the relationship of the phenomenon with any other variables, through a qualitative approach that explores, examines, and investigates the nature of the causes that lead to the creation of cynical behavior for teaching assistants.

Data was collected through conducting several personal interviews, and the findings of this study found that four main reasons contribute to creating cynical behavior among teaching assistants: the future ambition; the ence of organizational justice; poor institutional performance; and weak teaching and research capabilities.

The study recommended a set of recommendations, the most important of which is the need to work to develop the ambition of teaching assistants of the Egyptian colleges and institutes of tourism and hotels as well as the need to develop a moral charter and adhere to it to reduce the phenomenon of patronage within Egyptian tourism education institutions.

The key persons of the Egyptian colleges and institutes of tourism and hotels should adopt the transparency culture, values fairness and integrity and adopt positive leadership styles.
