The architecture of the mausoleums took a large part of the attention of Muslims throughout the ages, until it became a feature of Islamic architecture in the Levant and Al-Maghreb.

Mausoleums are from the buildings that were popularly built on the graves of the saints in Islamic Maghreb.

Perhaps one of the most important reasons of the spread of the phenomenon of building shrines on the graves of the righteous saints is the degree of sanctification and respect that the residents of God's saints have in these areas since ancient times.

The Mausoleums in the city of Walata are tangible aspect of the heritage in this city, because it has a great place in the hearts of its residents, since it includes the graves of the saints and the righteous since the people of the city believe in their goodness and jurisdiction
The mausoleums are designed specifically for the visitors of these sheikhs, who represent a spiritual position among the residents of this city.

Therefore, some residents of this city constructed some shrines by building on them to distinguish them from other graves of the public.

And based on the importance that the mausoleum in Walata have been distinguished among other buildings, as they were not just buildings that are built by the people and residents of the city, but it reflects in its architecture the culture of this people.
