Abstract EN

The architectural heritage is the mirror which reflects the past and present of nations and peoples.

The construction and reconstruction processes are the physical symbol of the human civilization and its spiritual symbol reflecting the culture and thought.

There is no doubt that Aden and Hadramout are characterized by their rich heritage and their various forms of architecture، such religious، civilian and military ones.

The aim of this study is to investigate the features of the architectural heritage and highlight its significance، and its bound to the history and identity of Aden and Hadramout.

It also aims to show the factors that are threatened it of disappearing، and reveal the destruction that architectural heritage has been exposed to، and what it is currently being endangered (after the war) of tampering and neglect intentionally or unintentionally.

The study shows the ways to preserve architectural heritage as an important part of the cultural heritage، because disappearing of such a heritage means the loss of the history and the identity.

In this context، the study aims to display the status of endangered architectural heritage due to the wars and other factors، and reveal how to protect، restore and preserve them.

It also aims to pay the attention of the local and central authority and other parties concerned in our country to take care of such a heritage and protect and preserve it.
