Abstract EN

This paper talk about new excavation at tell Albaqara which located in the center of Hosh Isa in the governorate of Al Buhaira southwest of the city of Damanhour.

According to the available historical sources, the site was mentioned in 1989 by the archaeological researcher Kalson but it was not shown on the survey maps in Egypt in 1910 or even in the topographic survey of Egypt in 1992, but it was recorded by the survey maps of the archaeological tells in the governorate of Al Buhaira.

No one of the Arab researchers or foreigners make a research or a study about the site, except the visit of researcher Mohamed Qenaouy in 2008, as he dealt with some pieces of surface pottery of the Tell by making research and study.

He noted that most of them due to the Hellenistic period and early Ptolemaic era until the third century AD, also he noted that the surface of the tell is free from any tombs or modern buildings and the surface of the tell covered with different types of wild weeds.

Until the administrative order was issued to work at the site of Archaeological Al baqra tell to reveal what the architectural and archaeological elements in the tell and began work on 15/4/2018 until 15 / 6/2018.

The work shows that there is some architectural elements dating back to successive historical periods and the oldest one dating to the Ptolemaic period until the Byzantine period.

Some architectural units was discovered and each one of it has an extension outside of the work area so the rest of the architectural elements was not disclosed.
