English Abstract

The current research aims to: 1 - Building a scale of family conflict among Kirkuk University students 2- Identifying the level of family conflict among Kirkuk University students in general, according to its fields.

3- Identifying the statistical differences in the level of family conflict according to the variables.

A- Gender: (males - females).

B- Academic grade: (second - fourth).

C- Academic specialization: (scientific - humanities).

- Identifying the level of self-concept among university students in general, according to its dimensions.

5- To identify the statistical differences in the self-concept according to the variables b- Gender: (male - female).

Academic specialization: (scientific - humanities).

6- Identifying the statistical relationship of the family conflict variable with the self-concept of Kirkuk University students The current research community is determined by all the students of the University of Kirkuk, which number (12752) male and female students, and the two researchers obtained these data from the Department of Studies and Planning at the University of Kirkuk.

Random stratified, which included the second and fourth grades of Kirkuk University students for the academic year (2020-2021).

Performing the apparent validity and statistical analysis, i.e.

extracting the discriminatory power of the paragraphs, the scale has become in its final form of (50) items, and the adoption of the self-concept scale prepared by (Mansir, 2017) consists of (49) items in its initial form, a paragraph, and after performing the apparent validity and statistical analysis, i.e.

extracting the power Discriminatory for paragraphs, the scale became in its final form consisting of (44) paragraphs.

After that, the two researchers applied my tools to the basic research sample of (750) male and female students.

The data was treated statistically by using the statistical bag.

The following statistical methods were used: t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient and Cronbach's alpha coefficient.

The two researchers reached the following results: - There are no statistically significant differences between the achieved average and the hypothetical average in the level of family conflict among the sample members, as they fell within the low level as a sign of degree - The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences between family conflict and the variables of gender and grade level, while the results showed that there was a statistically significant relationship between family conflict and academic specialization in favor of the humanitarian specialization.

The study also showed that there is a statistically significant difference between the achieved mean and the hypothetical mean, and in favor of the achieved average, the level of self-concept is higher than the hypothetical average.

The results also showed that there were statistically significant differences between the self-concept and the gender variables in favor of males and the academic grade in favor of the fourth grade, while the results showed that there were no statistically significant differences between self-concept and academic specialization.

The results also indicated that there is a statistically significant inverse correlation between family conflict and self-concept, that is, the higher the value of the self-concept among Kirkuk University students, the lower the level of family conflict.

In light of the results, the necessary recommendations and suggestions were made.
