English Abstract

The current research aims to identify: 1.

The role of the educational counselor in caring for orphaned students in the preparatory stage.

2.

The significance of the differences in the role of the educational counselor in caring for orphaned students according to gender (males - females).

To achieve this, the researcher has built a scale for the role of the educational counselor according to the definition of (Al-Atabi, 2012) and the scale may consist of (30) items in the style of declarative phrases, and in front of each paragraph five progressive alternatives for the answer are (always, often, sometimes, rarely, never) given to it when Correction, scores (5, 4, 3, 2, 1) respectively for positive paragraphs and reflects correction for negative paragraphs.

After verifying the accuracy of the psychometric characteristics of the research scale and its paragraphs, the research scale was applied to the research sample, which amounted to (200) male and female orphaned students in the preparatory stage, and the data was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and the results showed the following: First: The role of the educational counselor is a vital, effective and important role in caring for orphaned students in the preparatory stage.

Second: There are no statistically significant differences in the role of the educational counselor in caring for orphaned students in the preparatory stage according to the gender variable (males - females).
